Where girlhood unfolds into womanhood, together.

The Seed

Uma and Mohan share the same origin story. Both grew up without guidance, without the kind of care that helps a young person navigate the years that shape who they become. Mohan answered that longing by building Vyrų Kalvė for boys. Uma answered it by building UMMA for girls. The name stands for Upės Merginų ir Mamų Akademija, Lithuania’s first academy for girls and their mothers. It was born from a suggestion within their community, from the recognition that what Mohan was building for young men, someone needed to build for young women. Uma tried. And what unfolded exceeded everyone’s hopes.

UMMA addresses something quiet and important: the passage from girlhood to womanhood has very few safe, dignifying spaces in Lithuania. Girls navigate identity, friendship, boundaries, confidence, and self-worth largely on their own. UMMA was built to change that, not by teaching from above, but by walking alongside.

The Voice

The voice is gentle and brave at once. It speaks to both daughters and mothers, because UMMA understood that the relationship between them is the ground from which everything else grows. The brand promise is care first, belonging first, so that identity can root and confidence can rise. What girls learn here isn’t content. It’s a way of being: grace in the body, care in the hands, courage in the voice. The communication is warm, direct, and free of pretension. It says: you are safe here, you are seen, you belong.

The Expression

The palette is drawn from river and earth: terra for warmth, forest green for steadiness, river blue for clarity, and sand for tender ground. A soft gold accent shines like sunlight on water, signalling dignity without display. The emblem carries deep meaning: water for transformation, a leaf crown for abundance, and a star for excellence and dreams. Everything feels handmade, alive, as if the river itself had shaped it.

The Bloom

The testimonials from mothers say it all. Girls who were quiet began to speak. Girls who couldn’t set boundaries learned to name them. Confidence grew, not the loud kind, but the steady kind that comes from knowing who you are and that someone walked beside you while you discovered it. The academy grew into a year-long mentorship, 420 hours of camps, weekly circles, personal consultations, and a programme for mothers. Registration for the coming year fills quickly. And the circle keeps widening, older girls modelling for younger ones, mothers anchoring other mothers, the community deepening into something that will outlast any single season. UMMA proved that when you hold a young woman with care, she doesn’t just grow. She blooms, and the blooming reaches everyone around her.
