The Hero's Journey

Your brand's story, mapped with heart.

Every brand carries a story. And at the heart of that story is not you, but the person you serve.

This workbook will walk you gently through seven steps to map your brand's story, following the path of the Hero's Journey. You are not the hero here. Your beloved client is. You are the guide, the one who walks beside them.

Take your time with each step. There are no wrong answers. Just honest ones.

1

A Character

Every meaningful story begins with someone who wants something deeply.

In your brand's story, that someone is your client. Before we think about what you offer, let us first turn toward them. Who are they? What is the one thing they truly long for? Not a product, not a service, but something that matters to their heart.

Keep it simple. The clearest stories begin with a single, honest want.
What does your client want?
2

Has a Problem

A story only moves forward when something stands in the way.

Your client is carrying a struggle, and it lives on three levels. There is the outer problem, the tangible thing they cannot solve alone. There is the inner problem, the quiet feeling it stirs inside them. And there is a deeper, almost philosophical knowing that things simply should not be this way.

Most people try to solve the outer problem. But what truly moves the heart is when someone understands the inner one.
The Villain
What is the root cause of your client's struggle? This does not have to be a person. It could be confusion, a broken system, noise, neglect, or something that simply does not care.
External Problem
What is the visible, practical challenge your client faces?
Internal Problem
How does this make them feel? What is the quiet worry they carry?
Philosophical Problem
Why is it simply not right that they should suffer this? What deeper truth does it touch?
3

And Meets a Guide

Your client is not looking for another hero. They are looking for someone who understands where they are and who gently knows the way forward.

Think of the wisest, kindest companion. Someone who has walked this path before and whose first instinct is not to teach, but to listen. A guide shows two things: "I understand how you feel" and "You are safe with me, I have walked this way before."
Empathy
How do you show your client that you truly see their struggle? What do you understand about their experience?
Authority
What gives you the trust and credibility to walk beside them? This could be your experience, the people you have helped, or the care you bring to your work.
4

Who Gives Them a Plan

When someone feels seen and safe, the next gift you can offer is clarity.

Your client does not need to understand every step of your process. They simply need to feel that there is a path, and that it is simple enough to take the first step without fear. Three clear steps is all it takes to turn uncertainty into trust.

And if you can offer a gentle promise, something that eases the worry of commitment, you create a space where they can say yes with an open heart.
The Process
What are the simple steps someone takes to begin working with you?
The Agreement
What promise or assurance can you offer that eases their fear?
5

And Calls Them to Action

Even when someone knows the path, they sometimes need a gentle invitation to take the first step.

This is not about pressure. It is about care. You are not pushing, you are reaching out your hand. There are two ways to do this: a clear invitation for those who are ready, and a softer offering for those who are still finding their way.
Direct Invitation
What is the one clear step you would love your client to take right now?
A Gentle Offering
What can you offer to someone who is not quite ready yet? Something warm and valuable that keeps the connection alive.
6

That Helps Them Avoid Failure

In every story, something is at stake. And naming it honestly, with care, is an act of love.

What will happen for your client if nothing changes? Not to frighten, but to honour the truth. Like salt in a recipe, just a little is enough to bring out the full flavour of why this matters.
What is at stake?
What does your client stand to lose if they do not take this step? What is the cost of things staying as they are?
7

And Ends in a Success

Now, let us paint the picture of what becomes possible.

When your client takes this journey with you, what does life look like on the other side? Be vivid. Be honest. Let them feel the warmth of what is waiting for them. Never assume they already know how you can change their world. Tell them, with your whole heart.
The Transformation
What does life look like for your client after working with you? Describe the success.
